5loved the bag  Aug 08, 2008
Heavyweight Field Bag (2 Colors Black,Olive)

I have a disability that requires I walk with a cane. Trying to hold onto a purse didn't leave my hands free. Thus began my search for a crossbody messenger bag. Everything I looked at was either too small, too big, or too expensive until I happened upon this field bag. It holds all the items I normally haul around with me with room for a paperback book and a bottle of water. And you can't beat the price. If I had any criticisms to make is that my bag is black and attracts animal hair and other types of detritus it comes in contact with but you can't have everything. I'm grateful to have a hand free and a bag that is roomy enough for me but not so big that it's a chore to carry.

5Terrific commuter bag!  Jul 23, 2008
Well, I've only had this bag for a couple of days but I am very very satisfied. Anyone buying it should realize that it's a fairly compact bag. In fact it isn't even as wide as a standard width newspaper - although you can fit a folded paper in it since it is a soft canvas and will stretch out. For me, it's perfect! I have a compact umbrella, a couple of large size paperbacks, a small radio, my MP3 player, and a small flashlight in it. It's light, the strap is nice and long and very comfortable. There are 3 pockets other then the main compartment: one on the outside under the flap, one on the back of the bag that hangs against your hip and a small zipper pocket in the main area that's probably big enough to fit an iPhone or Palm-sized device. All are prety handy.

I have no real complaints but if I were tweaking the design I would have split one of the 2 big pockets into 2 smaller pockets. Those would fit an MP3 player and a large cell phone or Palm nicely. I'd also have a hook/clip to hang keys or some other small item just inside the main area. Finally, I'd put a couple of elastic straps under the bag so you could slide a small umbrella in them and not have to squeeze it into the main compartment. But...no one asked me in advance! :-) hahaha

All that being said, I am really happy with this bag. I've searched a loooong time for a nice, small but roomy bag that holds just the few essential items I want to have with me on my daily commute and this fits the bill perfectly!

5One "Nifty" Field Bag At A Bargain Price!  Jul 22, 2008
I received this bag in 2 days w/regular shipping & handling! Everything about this bag is exceptional and fits my needs perfectly! Great color (olive green), quality workmanship, not overly large or terribly small, 3 separate areas for your items, a zipper compartment, and a comfortable, wide shoulder strap. If you are looking to carrying 8"x11" papers in here..it's not going to work for ya. I LOVE this bag! You will too...and for under $20 bucks??? You can't go wrong! "NIFTY!"

4Great bag, funky smell.  Jul 09, 2008
This bag is exaclty as described. I love it except when I washed it the bag shrank so much I couldn't fit my notebook or textbook in it. Since it smelled funny from the packaging I couldn't not wash it.

5Good Buy  Jul 08, 2008
This is a decent bag, I use it for carrying around my D&D books to games, since I got tired of hauling an entire backpack. The books(about 3, hardback) fit fine along with a notebook and several other items.

The materiel's are good and it's easy enough to add a clip for keys also.

This bag's good for carrying around a moderate amount of books and items, so perfect for running from class to class.
